Paradise Brew Werks is a design-forward brewery in Chico, California, built around exceptional craft beer, live music, food trucks, and the kind of warmth that turns first-timers into regulars.
When Jason set out to design the taproom, he wanted a focal point that brought energy to the space and captured the attention of his guests. "I had it in the back of my mind that I really wanted to have a Vestaboard." As it happened, Vestaboard was just beginning to launch the new Vestaboard Note, giving life to a pilot of a Vestaboard Note Array.
Today, a Vestaboard Note Array of 12 connected Notes sits at the center of the taproom, serving as the menu board, event announcement system, and an evolving piece of the brewery's identity.
"The Vestaboard is absolutely the centerpiece," Jason says. "We love the tactile vibe that it brings. The sound. People will come up and start talking about the board before they order a beer."
Beyond rotating beers and tasting notes, Jason and his team use the Array to share what's happening at the brewery that day. "We have a section that describes what's happening for the day for our music and our food truck," Jason explains. "I changed it to 'yumminess.' So what's the 'yumminess' for today?" When they first installed the Array, Jason invited the staff to participate in programming it. "The team created several, and then we created several. It's nice to have the whole family be a part of it."
Though the taproom lives in Chico, its heart is in Paradise, the town up the ridge where Jason's family lives. As Paradise worked to recover from the 2018 Camp Fire, Jason and his family wanted to be part of that rebuilding. The name is their tribute to it: a way of carrying Paradise with them, and of staying tied to the place that inspired the whole brewery.
"When you're with friends and you have great beer, especially if that's blended with some good music, we just think that it creates a pretty special, memorable experience," Jason says.
