Shop Vestaboard NoteWhy a Split-Flap Display Instead of a Screen
Screens demand attention. They glow, they notify, they interrupt. A split-flap display earns it. When the flaps spin, everyone in the room looks up. When they stop, the message sits there — beautiful, physical, present — without draining a battery or adding another glowing rectangle to your life.
Tactile and mechanical
Thousands of physical flaps, not pixels. You hear the message arrive before you read it. One message at a time. No feeds. No notifications. No doom-scrolling. Just the message you chose, displayed on your schedule.
Learn MoreBeautiful when still
A design object, not a black rectangle. Stunning on the wall whether it's flipping or idle. Built to last. No screen burn-in. No software that slows it down. Vestaboard’s components have been tested to millions of cycles.

Split-Flap Display Options: How They Compare
Custom commercial installations
Large-format split-flap boards built for airports, stadiums, restaurant chains, and corporate lobbies. Fully custom, beautifully crafted — and starting at $15,000+. Lead times of months. Designed for commercial spaces, not personal use.
Digital simulations
Software that makes a TV screen look and sound like a split-flap display. Subscription-based. Affordable — but it's still a screen. No mechanical flaps, no real sound, no tactile experience. A simulation of the thing, not the thing itself.
DIY and open-source kits
For makers, tinkerers, and hobbyists who want to build their own from scratch. Requires soldering, laser cutting, stepper motors, and significant time. Rewarding as a project — but not a finished product you'd hang in your living room or give as a gift.
Vestaboard ($999 – $3,499)

Designed by a Red Dot Award-winning team, backed by a 2-year warranty, and supported by real people. Ships to your door, installs in 30 minutes, and works beautifully from day one.
