Yes! Transitions allow you to choose how your Vestaboard updates messages with pattern styles and speed controls.
Our transition settings in the mobile app allow you to choose how your Vestaboard transitions between messages. Whether you prefer a vibrant and striking effect, or something more smooth and subtle, you can tailor the update experience to your space and preferences.
Available Transition Options
- Classic: The original, all-at-once update where every character flips simultaneously.
- Wave: A graceful, left-to-right column animation that creates a flowing effect across your Vestaboard.
- Drift: A right-to-left variation of Wave that delivers a similar fluid motion in reverse.
- Curtain: An outside-in animation where columns converge at the center, creating a dramatic, curtain-like reveal.
Note: Wave, Drift, and Curtain transitions animate every character, even if the letter or symbol doesn’t change. This means you’ll see and hear more motion than with Classic, which only updates characters that are different.
Classic mode is ideal for situations where content is frequently updating, such as with data displays or dashboards. Wave, Drift, and Curtain modes are great for drawing attention or creating ambience.
Speed Options: Fast vs. Gentle
For Wave, Drift, and Curtain transitions, you can also select between two animation speeds:
- Fast: Column updates overlap slightly for quicker transitions while maintaining a fluid effect.
- Gentle: A more measured pace, where each column completes before the next begins. Ideal for noise-sensitive environments or those who enjoy a more calming update style.
Tip: If your Vestaboard is located in a noise-sensitive area, choosing a Gentle option can help reduce sound and provide a more peaceful presence.
How to Adjust Your Transitions
- Tap the gear icon to access your Settings.
- Tap to manage the Transitions section.
- Select your desired style and speed for message updates.
Note: Transition options require firmware version v4.0 or later. If your Vestaboard can’t be updated automatically, you’ll see a prompt to contact our support team at support@vestaboard.com and we’ll help you get set up.
